What's a hermaphrodite?

Cannabis is a genus of flowering plants that has long been used for fibre (hemp), for medicinal purposes, and as a recreational drug. Cannabis plants grown for the latter two purposes contain THC, a psychoactive molecule that produces a "high" or "stone", a narcotic or energising effect. There are numerous names for the final psychoactive product, such as marijuana, weed, grass, ganja, and pot. It consists of the dried flowers and leaves of plants selected to produce high levels of THC. Other preparations from the cannabis plant include hashish and hash or honey oil, kief, bhang and various cannabis foods such as brownies and space cake.

An abbreviation of "hermaphrodite", often used by cannabis growers. E.g. "Oh man, I found a hermie in the middle of my females today!" Also, a verb which indicates the transformation of a female plant to a hermaphrodite: "What can cause a plant to hermie?"
